Nine PASC swimmers qualified for Scottish Schools Finals
We had 9 PASC swimmers in total who qualified for the Finals this year representing their schools, with no less than 5 swimmers making it into the top 12 of their respective events. Despite the lack of training in a long course pool there were still lots of PBs, most notably Ellie G who came 10th overall in the 100m Back for 12-13 year old girls. But it was Rory McKay who stole the day, taking the bronze medal in the 100m Fly and was then straight into the pool for the 200m Back where he came 11th overall.

PASC missed out on third place by only 2 points at the Lothian Club Champs
Our most important team competition of the year, this year we were once again competing in the top division. After a hectic day of racing, the final positions were decided by the relays and, by a tiny margin of only 2 points, we finished 4th and will therefore be competing in Div 2 next year. There were lots of exciting races but the best came at the end when the excellent 14+ boys team of Scott, Rory M, John and Neilson won a very noisy 4x 50m free race. The young girls team also took first place, this time in the medley relay with Ellie, Iona, Nieve and Emma H in the team. We had several swimmers who took top points in their individual event (Iona in the breast, Ciaran and Rory G in the free, Ellie and Rory M in the back and Rory M also in the fly) and several others who achieved PBs - Benji in the 100m breast, Chris in the100m fly, Emma H with a sensational 50m fly, Rory M with exceptional swims in both the 100m back and 100m fly, Kathryn in the 100m back, Ben in the 50m breast, Laura in the 100m fly and, last but not least, the mighty Neilson in the 100m fly. We displayed a great team spirit, swimmers swam the events they were selected for (not necessarily their favourite stroke) and Kathryn deserves special mention for swimming in the open age group at the tender age of 14 (and only just 14 this month). Finally, many thanks to Lindsay who managed the team all day with great humour and patience.

PASC finished third overall at the Telfer Cup
It only comprises four relay races but the Telfer Cup is an important part of the swim season - apart from anything else, the trophy itself is one of the oldest in Scottish swimming. We managed to get three of our 4 team in the medals which meant that we finished in third place overall. In terms of individual performances, there were excellent swims from Jamie D and Ellie who both swam official PBs and from Laura, JJ, Ciaran, Rory M and the legend that is Neilson. Well done to everyone, you all contributed to an excellent result.
