26 Porty swimmers were competing
in this year's Schools champs, representing their schools in individual
and relay events. Our older boys led the way, with Ciaran, Rory and John
all picking up 2 Golds each from two events. Iona and Emma both won
a Gold and a Silver each and Scott and Nieve both won a Silver and a Bronze. JJ, Fi
and Ellie all won Silver and Kathryn collected a bronze.
Benji helped his school team to relay Gold, John + Ciaran were
half of the Portobello High team that won Silver and Thomas was also in a
Silver winning team. Gigi led her school team out for a Bronze and the
Portobello High team that won Bronze in the 14/15 girls comprised Nieve,
Fi, Laura and Iona.
We now wait to hear who has qualified for Scottish Schools, which
is much harder this year as only 12 swimmers (6 for 5th/6th yrs) from
the whole of Scotland will go forward to the Finals in East Kilbride.
